BRIEF ITINERARY 

 

Day 1. After breakfast depart to Amboseli National Park where you will have afternoon game drives.

Day 2. Morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli National Park national park.

Day 3. Drive to Lake Naivasha where you will a walking safari at Hell”s gate National Park.

Day 4. Drive to Masai Mara where you will have afternoon game drives.

Day 5. Full day game drive in Masai Mara with packed lunch. A balloon can be planned for this day.

Day 6. Driven to lake Nakuru where you will have afternoon game drive.

Day 7. Morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 8. Driven to Nairobi where you will board a flight to Uganda. Rest of the afternoon spent at leisure.

Day 9. You will be driven to Mburo National park where you will have afternoon game drives.

Day 10. Have a morning nature walk and then be driven to Buhoma lodge on the outskirts of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 11. This will be a day of gorilla tracking

Day 12. Driven to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have afternoon game drives.

Day 13. Game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 14. Morning game drives in Queen Elizabeth national park then transfer to Kibale.

Day  15. It will be a day of chimps tracking and viewing of other wildlife.

16 DAYS KENYA AND UGANDA VACATION SAFARI ITINERARY

DAY 1: NAIROBI TO AMBOSELI
The driver guide will pick you up in the morning from your hotel and after briefings, depart immediately for Amboseli National Park. Arrive at around midday and check in at the lodge for lunch.  After lunch and a short rest, you will embark on a late afternoon game drive watching various wildlife in their natural habitat. The park is famous for being the best place in the world to get close to free-ranging elephants.

Back to the lodge in the evening.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Wake up to amazing views of Mt Kilimanjaro weather permitting. After breakfast engage in full day game drives in this wonderful park. You will have the opportunity of seeing big heards of elephants up close. Another exciting place will be the observation point where you will have a birds view of the expansive park below teaming with wildlife. There will also be an optional Maasai village visit. Back to the lodge in the evening

DAY 3: AMBOSELI TO LAKE NAIVASHA
Depart Amboseli after an early breakfast and drive to Lake Naivasha. On the way, you will have a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley view point. You will arrive at lunch time. After short rest you will be driven to Hells Gate National Park where you will have a guided walking safari among the wildlife. You can also hike in the park or cycle in the park at extra cost.

DAY 4: LAKE NAIVASHA TO MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
You will leave Lake Naivasha in the morning after breakfast and drive to Masai Mara National Park. Arrive in time for lunch. After lunch and brief rest, you embark on an afternoon game drive. Masai mara has over 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and more than 400 birds species recorded in the reserve.  Back to the lodge in the evening.

DAY 5: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE 

After breakfast you leave the lodge carrying packed lunches and embark on a full day game viewing in Africa’s finest park. You will drive to various places in the expansive Masai Mara National Reserve. In the late afternoon, you will have an option of visiting a Masai cultural village as you head back to the lodge in the evening.

DAY 6: MASAI MARA TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enter the park and have an en route game drive as you head to your lodge located inside the park. You will arrive at the hotel in time for lunch. After lunch and brief rest, continue with an afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge in the evening.

DAY 7: FULL DAY LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Spend the whole day in this amazing park famous for the pink lesser and greater flamingos and abundant wildlife. You will enjoy a wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges.

DAY 8: LAKE NAKURU TO NAIROBI THEN UGANDA
Depart the lodge after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi. On arrival have lunch and then be dropped at the airport for your flight to Uganda. On Arrival, you will be picked and taken to your hotel for the night.

DAY 9: KAMPALA TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
You will depart Entebbe after breakfast for Lake Mburo National Park. The drive takes 3-4 hours
with stopovers at areas of tourist attraction such as the Royal Drum makers’ center and at the Equator
for an opportunity to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. You will
continue through the savannah grasslands dotted with human homesteads, banana plantations and
several herds of local long horned Ankole cattle endemic to this part of the country. You will have lunch
at the lodge followed by an afternoon you will have a boat cruise in the lake followed by a game viewing
drive in such for wildlife in this park.

Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, you will have a morning guided nature walk in the park. You will later be driven  to the extreme South-West which will take around 5 hours’ drive. Lunch will be provided en- route at Igongo cultural centre in Mbarara city, arriving late in the evening for an overnight and relax at the resort with stunning views of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest as you wait for the next
day’s adventure.

Day 11 – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorilla Trekking)
This morning you will have an early morning breakfast at 6:30 am and with packed Lunch you will move
to the Park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:30 am.
You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can
take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous
animal trails allowing access by tourists.

Day 12: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha Sector
After a relaxed breakfast, depart for Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha sector is
notably recognized for its resident Tree climbing lions that are an exceptional attraction and one among
the highlights on all safaris taken within Queen Elizabeth National park. In the southern section of this
park, the Lions are now and again spotted hanging on braches of huge fig trees whereas the Uganda Kob
(which are the major food to these lions) graze in the plains of the Ishasha sector. You will arrive in time
for lunch and there after set for an late afternoon game viewing drive. After the drive you will return back to
the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 13: Ishasha sector to Kasenyi Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your breakfast you will be taken to Ishasha Sector, famous for the tree climbing lions lounging in
the tree branches while keeping a close eye on herds of Uganda kob, their favorite prey. You could have
a chance to spot some tree climbing lions after proceeding to your lodge. In the afternoon you will take
a Boat Cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see, at close range, the water animals to include
Hippos, Buffalos, Crocodiles and elephants bathing on the channel banks. There is also a variety of bird
species on the water banks especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana.

Day 14: Game Drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer Kibale National Park
After an early morning game drive and breakfast you will drive to Kibale National Park. Kibale National
Park is in Western Uganda, protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 square kilometres in size and
is located between 1,100 metres to 1,600 metres in elevation. Despite encompassing primarily moist
evergreen forest, it contains a diverse array of landscapes.

Day 15: Chimps trekking 
After breakfast, your river guide will transfer you to the briefing point and will then hand in your details
and permits for registration. You will then be allocated to a chimpanzee community and your ranger guide will lead you on the trek in search of this great ape. Watch the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, feed, play and rest. In the afternoon you will visit Bigodi Swamp, The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is an fascinating area, located in Magombe swamp. this area is recognized for a extensive array of biodiversity among which are several primates species like the red colobus monkey, baboon, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey, red
tailed monkey and the L’Hoest monkey. Additional Mammals such as chimpanzees, Sitatunga,
mongooses, bush pigs, otters plus bush bucks, also visit this swamp coming from the adjacent Kibale
National Park. Retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Depart
After a relaxed breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe for your schedule flight
back home or your next destination.
