Whales and wildebeest twin migration safari is a 15 day Kenya safari that has been timed to capture the simultaneous movement of the two species of mammals. Wildebeest migrate from Serengeti to Masai Mara around early July and back latest October every year. Humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to warmer climates, congregating in Kenyan waters between July and August to calve and mate. After spending two months breeding and nursing their calves, the whales then make their journey back to Antarctica around September. This safari will also provide an opportunity to watch other wildlife including the big five. Optional activities on safari include nature walks, playing golf or tennis etc. From visiting Kenya’s premier parks to watching spectacular migrations, this safari offers a lifetime experience.   1. OLPEJETA CONSERVANCY  : Ol Pejeta conservancy is the largest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa. Ol Pejeta is also home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhino. It’s the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a Sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from black market.
  2. ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK : Picturesque, steep forested ravines and open moorland, it is home to a great number of wildlife. Ranging from the herds of elephants and buffalos to lions, side-striped jackal, eland, duiker, olive baboon, East African Wild dog, bushbuck, waterbuck, Cape buffalo, mountain reedbuck among others.
  3. LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK. This park is famous for the flocks of Greater and Lesser Flamingos that gather around the lake, sometimes with as many as 2 million. It is also home to the endangered black Rhinos and Rothschild Giraffe. It has a wide variety of other wildlife and is considered a bird watchers paradise.
  4. MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – It is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya and Africa at large. It has exceptional big cat (lion, leopard and cheetah) sightings and superb wildlife viewing throughout the year. Here is where one of the most phenomenal natural spectacles in the world happen, the wildebeest migration.
  5. WATAMU – Watamu is a beautiful and peaceful village on the Kenya Coast, nestled between pristine beaches and lush tropical forest. It has beautiful and idyllic white sand beach.  It provides a unique, relaxed and laid back way of life. With an underwater world of wonders you can snorkel, dive, kite and more. Watamu is a famous fishing center that promotes tag and release fishing of spectacular game fish. In this area, you will also find the peaceful tropical forests of Arabuko Sokoke. You can have encounters with reptiles at Bio-Ken or explore the mysterious ruins of Gedi. 




Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to Ol pejeta conservancy. Check in at the hotel and have lunch. After lunch have afternoon game drives. Ol pejeta is one of the prime sanctuaries in Laikipia plateau. It has Southern white Rhino and also a refuge of the last 2 Northern white rhino left in the world. (To view the Northern white Rhino needs to be booked in advance at extra cost) The Jane Goodall Institute also operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where you can see the primates.

On this day you will having early morning and evening game drives.  These are the best times to explore the Conservancy as predators are on the hunt and their prey is on high alert. In Ol pejeta, there is high chance of seeing all the big five. You will also be taken to the equator marker near the Rongai gate.

You will depart Ol Pejeta conservancy and drive to Aberdare National Park. On arrival, you will be transferred to The Ark Lodge where you will be watching wildlife from the comfort of the lodge as they come to the water hole. Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, the Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. It comprises three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. So that you don’t miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole.

You will be transferred to The Ark sister hotel a short distance away. On this day, you will have game drives in the salient and the Moorlands in Aberdare National Park. Depart Aberdare national park in the morning and drive to lake Nakuru national park. On arrival, you will enter the park and have an en route game drive as you head towards your hotel. After check in you will have lunch and a short rest. In the late afternoon, you will have a game drive in the park. You will enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Apart from the wide variety of wildlife, it is also ideal for bird watching.

You will have morning and afternoon game drives in this wonderful park full of birds, the rare Rothschild giraffe and the endangered rhinos. Lake Nakuru offers sanctuary to the endangered rhino and has the largest population in Kenya. Another animal that is endangered and finds residence in Lake Nakuru national park is the Rothschild giraffe. Other animals found in the park include African buffalos,  zebras, impalas, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, waterbucks,  hyenas, jackals,  hippopotamus among may others.

Depart lake Nakuru early in the morning and drive to Masai Mara.  You will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch and a brief relaxation you will take your first thrilling afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve. Returning from your first tour of Masai Mara you will have dinner and relax under the stars, falling asleep to the sounds of the bush.
