8 Days Fly in Safari, Ruaha national Park/Nyerere national park/ Mafia island adventure is a safari that takes you away from the mainstream tourist destinations! Our carefully crafted journey will transport you to Nyerere National Park, Ruaha National Park and Mafia Island – all incredible locations distant from each other but linked together by convenient flights.

Nyerere National Park – formerly known as Selous Game Reserve – is Tanzania’s largest park with a wide range of wildlife activities available for your enjoyment, including boat safaris along the Rufiji River, guided trekking tours and classic game drives. This reserve was named after Frederick Selous Courtney, a great hunter and explorer, who set it up in 1922. Thanks to its untamed wildlife and untouched environment, this reserve became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.

Keep your eyes peeled for Africa’s rare hunting dogs!

The Ruaha National Park is one of Tanzania’s top wilderness areas; filled with stunning landscapes, amazing game-viewing opportunities and the magnificent Great Ruaha River. Lions, elephants and wild dogs are some of the animals you might see here during your visit. Additionally, it offers outstanding wilderness appeal that makes it truly special – don’t forget to take plenty of photos!

8 Days Fly in Safari, Ruaha national Park/Nyerere national park/ Mafia island Itinerary

DAY 1: FLY TO NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Dar-Es-Salaam International airport for your flight to Nyerere national park.. Upon arrival you will be met by Camp Driver/Guide who will transfer you to Rufiji  River Camp. Here, you will check in, refresh and settle in. After lunch and relaxation embark on an afternoon game drive. Return to the camp in the evening.

 

DAY : 2  – NYERERE NATIONAL PARK.

You will have a full day in the park. You will have game drives with options of boat rides and walking Safari . The camp staff will discuss with you the best timings for you the extra activities. You will have an option of full days in the park or Morning and afternoon game drives.

  • Accommodation at the Rufiji River Camp.
  • Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

 

DAY 3: FLY TO RUAHA NATIONAL PARK.

After breakfast, you will head to the airstrip for your flight to Ruaha national park.  Upon arrival in Ruaha you will meet the driver guide who will transfer you to Ruaha River Lodge. Here, you will check in, refresh and settle in. After lunch and relaxation embark to a afternoon game drive.

DAY: 4 –  RUAHA NATIONAL PARK.

You will have an option of morning and evening game drives in Ruaha. The camp staff will discuss with you the best timings for you the extra activities. There is also an optional sundowner at an extra cost.

  • Accommodation at Ruaha River Lodge.
  • Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5: Fly to Mafia.

Have a morning game drive and then head back to the camp for breakfast and check out. Proceed to the airstrip for your flight back to Mafia Island. Upon arrival you will met and transferred to the lodge. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day: 6 and 7 Mafia Island  

For two days, you will explore and experience Mafia. You will have options of snorkeling, sunset cruise on the Indian ocean,  whale Sharks, turtle visits, Diving etc. This excursions can be arranged by the lodge at an extra cost.

  • Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 8: Departure

You will have mornings and afternoons at leisure
Transfer to the airport for your flight in the late afternoon and get a drop off at Your hotel in Dar-es-Salaam or the airport.
