Our 10 Days Kids Friendly Family Vacation in Kenya has been curated to provide delight to the whole family including the children. It starts in Nairobi where the family will visit elephant orphanage and giraffe centre for a close encounter with the animals. The safari then proceeds to Hell”s gate in Naivasha town where you will have a walking safari with options of a bicycle safari and boat rides. From Naivasha the safari goes to Lake Nakuru National park, a bird watchers paradise. Masai Mara considered a world cup of wildlife watching will be your last destination in the bush. It ends with relaxation for the whole family at the Diani beach, one of the best in Africa.

Brief Safari itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL NAIROBI

On arrival, you will be met by the company representative. After a short briefing, you will be transferred to your city hotel. Depending on your arrival time, the day can be spent resting at the hotel.

DAY 2: NAIROBI FULL DAY

After breakfast depart your city hotel at around 8.30AM. You will be driven to the elephant orphanage where you will have a close encounter with baby Elephants. Depart the orphanage at around 12.30 PM and be taken for lunch at the galleria mall. After lunch you will head to the giraffe centre where you will have another close encounter with the giraffes. In the late afternoon, you will be driven back to your city hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: NAIROBI TO LAKE NAIVASHA

Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drive to Hells Gate National Park in Naivasha. On the way, you will have a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley view point in Mai Mahiu. Afterwards you will head straight to hells gate where you will have a guided walking safari. You have an option of also ridding a bicycle in the park which is ideal for the children. Later check in at the hotel and have lunch. After lunch you can spend the afternoon relaxing in the hotel by the lake side or have boat rides at an extra cost.

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will head to lake Nakuru National Park where you will have game drives on arrival. At around midday you will check in at your lodge and have lunch. After lunch and short rest you will continue with game drives. Back to the lodge in the evening.

Lake Nakuru national park has over 400 bird species making it a bird watchers paradise. In addition it is home to over 50 mammal species. When it comes to plant species, it has over 500. The park is famous for the flocks of the greater and lesser Flamingo . Other avifauna to be seen include variety of water birds (Yellow-billed Pelicans, Marabou Storks, Hammerkops, Fish Eagles, etc.)

DAY 5: MASAI MARA

After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart for Masai Mara. On arrival, you will have an en-route game drive as you proceed to the lodge where you will check in and have lunch. After lunch and a short rest, you will have an afternoon game drive.
Back to the lodge in the evening for dinner. After dinner you can relax around a fireplace being entertained with Masai songs or head to your room.

The Masai Mara is the most famous reserve due to its large population of wildlife. It is one of the few places where all of the “Big Five’” are found. This park also boasts 470 species of birds and rare animals like roan antelopes and nocturnal bat-eared foxes. You will also see the beautiful lilac-breasted roller which is Kenya’s national bird.

Day 6: MASAI MARA

Our morning game drive starts soon after breakfast when we again head deep into the wild in search of its thrills and spills. A balloon safari can be arranged for this day. Like the evening game drive, morning drives are very rewarding in terms of wildlife and riveting scenery. You can expect immense multitudes of the Big Five, hippos, giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, impalas, and wildebeests. The birds aren’t shy either as the kingfisher, hornbill, secretary bird, and kori bustard are expected to appear.

At noon, we gather under the signature acacia tree in the Mara for a delicious packed lunch from the Mara Serena. Afterwards, our game drive continues with an afternoon to evening game drive.

Every turn within the Mara reveals new sets of attractions to admire. If we are not fussing over the wildlife, sunburned Savannah, or bird variety, then we are admiring the scenery.
We return to the lodge in the evening.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA TO DIANI

After breakfast, you will head to the Keekorok airstrip where you will catch your local flight to Diani beach. On arrival at the Ukunda airstrip in the South coast you will be picked up and transferred to the resort.

The rest of the afternoon will be spend at leisure in the resort or at the beach with an option of engaging in water sport activities at your own cost.

DAY 8 TO 9: DIANI BEACH

The rest of the days will be spend at leisure in the lodge with an option of engaging in water sports and activities at your own cost. Diani beach has been voted many times as one of the best beaches in Africa. With flawless long stretch of white sand hugged by lush forest and kissed by surf able waves which makes Diani beach very popular.

DAY 10: DIANI TO NAIROBI

You will check out of the hotel and drive to Ukunda airport for your local flight to Nairobi. In Nairobi you will have lunch or dinner at the famous carnivore restaurant and then later dropped at the airport for your international flight.
