DESTINATIONS TO BE VISITED

1. NAIROBI ANIMAL ORPHANAGE – It is located in the Nairobi National Park. It serves as treatment and rehabilitation center for wild animals.
2. DAVID SHELDRICK WILDLIFE TRUST – It operates the most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust exists to protect Africa’s wildlife and to preserve habitats for the future of all wild species.
3. GIRAFFE CENTRE – It was established in order to protect the endangered giraffe especially the Rothschild Giraffe. The main attraction for both school children and visitors is feeding giraffes from a raised observation platform. It is also home to several warthogs which freely roam the area along with the giraffes.
4. LAKE NAIVASHA – It is a freshwater lake in Kenya and part of the Great Rift Valley.  It is a haven for hippos and a bird watchers paradise. Lake Naivasha is a RAMSAR site, a designation that reflects the ecological importance of the wetlands around the lake.
5. LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK – Lake Nakuru is famous for its huge flocks of flamingos (Lesser and Greater) that enjoy the alkaline waters of this shallow soda lake among other wildlife species.
6. MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE – The park is blessed with a wide and unique variety of wildlife and birds. The best place to enjoy the wildebeest migration and the Big Five “ elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino” among other animals present in the park.
7. DIANI BEACH – Not only is Diani Beach one of Africa’s best beaches, but also one of the top beach destinations in the world! Voted as one of the top beaches in Africa by CNN, Diani Beach offers an expansive 20km of powder white sand which meets the Indian Ocean on Kenya’s south coastline.

10 DAYS KIDS FRIENDLY FAMILY VACATION KENYA ITINERARY

DAY 1: NAIROBI FULL DAY

Pick up from you hotel at around 7.30AM and head to Nairobi animal orphanage where you will watch the different animals  found in the orphanage. At around 10AM you will depart the orphanage to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage to watch and learn about the baby elephants found there. You will also watch the feeding program which happens between 11AM and 12pM. From the elephant orphanage, you will head out for lunch at the galleria mall. After lunch, head to the giraffe center where you will have close encounter with the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. At around 4PM, you will head back to your hotel.

DAY 2: NAIROBI TO LAKE NAIVASHA

Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drive to Hells Gate National Park in Naivasha. On the way, you will have a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley view point in Mai Mahiu. Afterwards you will head straight to hells gate where you will have a game drive or guided cycling among wild life. Later check in at the hotel and have lunch. You will spend rest of the afternoon at leisure in the hotel with an option of boat rides in the lake at an extra cost.

DAY 3: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will head to lake Nakuru National Park. You will have an en-route game drive as you head to the lodge located inside the park. You will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch and short rest, you will embark on a tour of the beautiful lake Nakuru National Park. Back to the lodge in the evening.

DAY 4: MASAI MARA

After having breakfast, you will head to Masai Mara National Reserve. You will have a brief stop at Narok town where you will go to a supermarket to purchase anything that you might need while in the bush. Arrive at Kilima Camp in time to settle into your rooms and enjoy some lunch before an afternoon safari game drive. During your afternoon game drive, you will have an opportunity to see variety of wildlife found in Masai Mara.  As the sun sets you will return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: MASAI MARA

After a scrumptious breakfast you will head out for a full day Masai Mara experience. You will have an option of morning and afternoon game drives or a full day game drive with packed lunch. Your game drives will take you in search of the Big Five as well as the plethora of outstanding wildlife found within the reserve. After viewing of wildlife, you have an option of visiting a cultural Masai village as drive back to the camp.

Day 6: MASAI MARA

You will have breakfast and then head out for a two hour horse riding safari. After the horse riding, you will spend time relaxing until in the afternoon when you will be taken for a game drive. Back to the hotel in the evening.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA TO DIANI

After breakfast, you will head to the Serena airstrip where you will catch your local flight to Ukunda in the South coast. You will arrive in the afternoon and check in at the Diani sea lodge. The rest of the afternoon will be spend at leisure in the resort with an option of engaging in water sport activities at your own cost.

DAY 8 TO 9: DIANI BEACH

The rest of the days will be spend at leisure in the lodge with an option of engaging in water sports and activities at your own cost. Diani beach has been voted many times as one of the best beaches in Africa. With flawless long stretch of white sand hugged by lush forest and kissed by surf able waves which makes Diani beach very popular.

DAY 10: DIANI TO NAIROBI

You will check out of the hotel and drive to Ukunda airport for your local flight to Nairobi. In Nairobi you will be hosted for lunch or dinner at the famous carnivore restaurant and then later dropped at the airport for your international flight.
